Bayron Binkley for Governor of Tennessee...Letter to the Editor
Despite all of our efforts to get the word out on my candidacy for Governor of the State of Tennessee...we have not been as successful as we would like to be. There are many gaps within the State that has not gotten the word. It more than appears that you have to have a "D" or and "R" beside your name before you can get anyone to do something on the campaign...I guess they have determined that you are either not qualified or worthy. (We have had some successes around the State most notably recently in Middle Tennessee with the Tennessean and its related papers and a good front page story in the Williamson Herald.)
Another step we have taken in the last couple of days was to send a Letter to the Editor or a piece to the opinion section of newspapers across the State and to the Television Stations as well. Our original letter was nearly 400 words long. Most papers want to get letters not to exceed 250...so a re-write was commissioned. We thought we would post the letter here on the Dedeacon's Tale for those who visit this blog. Please help us spread the word and be sure to visit the Campaign Website at http://binkley4governor.com/
To the Editor:
Exacerbating the situation are many of the state’s media outlets which almost exclusively cover well funded major party candidates- while waving the banner of independence, fairness, and impartiality. Because many in the state’s media continue to perpetuate the myth that only wealthy major party candidates merit their coverage, I am using this opportunity to announce my candidacy for Governor.
These are critical times for Tennessee. Viable solutions for the problems we face including jobs, property values, taxes and education shouldn’t be defined by the media or the special interest groups-they should be decided by hardworking taxpaying Tennesseans.
Our current path has produced at times inferior results, stifled the rule of common sense and diminished our prospects for the future. It is time for a new voice-and a new choice. I am prepared to be that voice, and I present myself to the people of Tennessee as an independent candidate for Governor. If the vision I have briefly outlined resonates with you, please visit www.Binkley4Governor.com.
